Sandra McDonald is a children’s book author and owner of a beautiful home out by Red Mountain in Mesa, AZ.  Several murals were done in her home, but my favorite is this one in the playroom.  She designed the room specifically for the mural, building a massive “barn”/entertainment center, and a child-sized hole in the wall which leads to all kinds of “secret” passageways and rooms which is the door in the tree I painted.  All elements of this mural were taken from different pages of her books.  This is just one corner of the large mural, but my fave.  Fun to do!  Lucky kids!
